Red Ribbon week will be October 27th through October 31st. During Red Ribbon Week, staff and students will participate in themed dress up days to focus on making positively healthy choices and saying no to drugs. Monday will be "Rally in Red," so students can wear a red shirt with uniform bottoms. Tuesday will be "Say 'Peace Out' to Drugs," so students can wear neon or tie-dyed shirts with uniform bottoms. Wednesday will be "Team Up Against Drugs," so students can wear their favorite team colors or jersey with uniform bottoms. Thursday will be "Life is Your Journey. Travel Drug-Free," so students can wear a tacky tourist top and accessories with uniform bottoms. Friday will be "Say Book to Drugs," so students can wear their favorite Halloween colored shirt (orange, purple, or black) with uniform bottoms. Students must wear uniform bottoms everyday.

Collier is hosting a Health Hero Flu Vaccine Clinic for students at no cost to the students. The vaccine clinic will be on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. Parents/guardians must complete and return the form linked here, https://aptg.co/-Q5jKD, by October 6, 2025.

The Collier Fall Festival is Thursday, October 9th. Join PTO for a fun-filled day at Collier for our annual Fall Festival. This year we will have many fun games and prizes, visits with Trail Maids, popcorn and Capri Sun for every child, options to ride the train, dunk a teacher, & more! Entry fee options (please only pay for students who reside with you): - 1 child: $10 - 2 children: $18 for both - 3+ children: $25 for all Add-ons: - Train ride tickets: $2 each - Dunkin' booth ticket: 5 throws for $4 Concession Prices: - Pizza: $2 per slice - Gatorade: $2 - Candy: $2 - Pickle: $2 - Cotton Candy: $3 - Water: $1 Donations Requested: - Pre-k & SPED: Small & medium pumpkins - Kindergarten, 1st, & 2nd: Bags of candy for prizes - 3rd, 4th, & 5th: Individually wrapped little snack cakes for the mini cake walk Fall Festival Schedule: - 4th & 5th grades: 8:45-9:55 - Pre-k & SPED: 10:05-11:15 - Kindergarten & 1st: 11:25-12:35 - 2nd & 3rd: 12:55-2:05 PTO will collect Fall Festival money and donations until Monday, October 6th. Please put money in an envelope with your child's name and teacher name on it. Label it Fall Festival. If you're paying for multiple students, please send entire payment in one envelope to your oldest child's teacher.

Complete both surveys, send screenshots of the completed screens to your child's teacher, and your child can earn a jean day TOMORROW, SEPTEMBER 26TH.

We will have our annual Childhood Cancer Awareness Pep Rally on September 26th. We will be showing our support for children effected by cancer. Students can wear a yellow/gold shirt and can purchase yellow/gold items to show support during the pep rally. The yellow/gold items being sold are: - Mini Foam Finger for $2 - Sunglasses for $3 - Under Eye Stickers 2 for $1 - Gold Ribbon Stickers 2 for $1 - Gold Rubber Wristbands for $2 Limited quantities will be available. Money can be sent in on September 25th to purchase items. Jeans may also be worn by those students whose parents filled out the two parent surveys and sent screenshots to the teacher.

Open House will be on Tuesday, September 16th. There will be a Title I Meeting at 5:00 p.m. in the library. This meeting is open to any parents or guardians who would like to attend. The front door will open from 4:50 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for those attending the Title I Meeting. Classroom visits will be from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. The doors on both ends of the building will open at 5:15 p.m. We hope everyone can come out to join us!

Parents and Guardians, All MCPSS First Class Pre-K sites will be closed from Monday, October 27, through Thursday, October 30, 2025, to allow staff to attend required professional development. School will resume on Friday, October 31, 2025. Please make the necessary arrangements for your Pre-k child during this time. Thank you for your understanding and support!

The first day of the 2025-2026 school year is Monday, August 11th. We are so excited to kickoff this new school year with our Collier Bees!

Don't forget to attend Meet the Teacher on Tuesday, August 5th from 3:00-6:00 p.m. ONLINE REGISTRATION should be completed and UPDATED PROOFS must be provided before your child is placed on a class roll. Meet the Teacher is ONLY for students who have completed online registration and have provided updated proofs.

Important Registration Announcement: The DEADLINE to register online is SUNDAY, JUNE 1st. Please check your child’s registration status — many have started the process but haven’t completed it. If you haven’t registered for the 2024-2025 school year yet, be sure to complete it by SUNDAY.

Collier's Registration Information: Two (2) new proofs of residence are now required to register ALL students for the 2025-2026 school year. If you have not completed registration yet, please visit mcpss.com to register your child or children. Two (2) CURRENT PROOFS must be physically brought to Collier along with a valid driver's license. proofs must be within 60 days from start of school (June or July bill). One (1) proof must reflect physical address: -Mortgage statement -apartment or house lease/rent receipt -homeowner’s/renter’s insurance policy -property tax records or deeds One (1) proof must reflect physical address: -utilities (water, gas, telephone, cable, electric) -income tax records from irs -two (2) credit card accounts (counts as one proof) -correspondence from social security, TANF or food stamp office -bank records
